The Food Service Advisory Committee

On April 2008, the management of the Agency formed the Food Service Advisory Committee. The group, composed of three or more volunteer residents, the House Management Supervisor, and chaired by the Executive Director meets at least once a month.

Through their efforts, they accomplished numerous things which are beneficial to the overall operation of the shelter’s food program and absolutely enhanced the well-being of each homeless family in Rio Hondo Temporary Home. Hot breakfast on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays was augmented to the usually served continental breakfast. A more nutritious and preferred food was being served during meals and snack time. Resident chore to achieve the smooth process of the nighttime snack had been organized.

The management appreciates the hard work of the Food Service Advisory Committee.
